Project Completion: Royal Dental Hospital

A few weeks ago, our team wrapped up a quick refurbishment for Arete Australia at the Royal Dental Hospital of Melbourne. Sitting right across from the University of Melbourne in Carlton, it was important that we finished the work quickly without disrupting the constant flow of students, patients and commuters in the area.

Facilities Upgrade For Better Hospitality

The hospital itself is undergoing a series of upgrades aimed at creating a better experience for patients and a stronger learning environment for students. Operating theatres are being fitted with advanced lighting to ease patient anxiety, new X-ray arms and dental chairs are being added to teaching clinics, and the foyer is being revitalised with a more welcoming design, a café and an easier booking process. Together, these improvements will mean better care for patients and more opportunities for future dentists to train with the right tools.

Custom Clad Job Scope

Our team was responsible for the works at Lynch Street Entry 2, the hospital’s main entrance. We fabricated and installed more than 100sqm of 3 mm solid aluminium cassette panels in a striking Duratec Intensity Green finish, supported by custom top hats to secure the panels onto the soffits.

Our Expertise in Lidar and Facade Design

To make sure everything fit perfectly, we used lidar scanning during site inspection to capture exact measurements. Our in-house drafting team then converted that data into a detailed 3D model, allowing us to map each panel precisely and plan the cutting before fabrication. This approach streamlined the process for both manufacturing and installation, reducing the chance of errors and saving valuable time on site.

All About Speed and Precision

All panels were installed within a week, with minimal interruption to hospital operations. On a healthcare project like this, accuracy and efficiency were key, and the use of 3D modelling ensured everything came together smoothly. We are grateful to have played a role in supporting an institution that is so important to both the community and the next generation of dental professionals. It was a privilege to work alongside Arete Australia and contribute to a project that will help deliver brighter smiles for years to come.
