Experience Fresh Produce to Fine Dining Under One Roof
The Market Pavilion at Chadstone Shopping Centre is a vibrant new addition to Melbourne's culinary landscape, blending the charm of European-style marketplaces with modern innovation. Spanning 26,500sqm, the precinct opened on March 27, 2025, following a $485 million investment. Architecturally, the Pavilion features vaulted ceilings inspired by traditional industrial markets, creating an elevated and enticing atmosphere.
At the Pavilion’s Southern Entry, we installed over 700sqm of curved aluminium cassette panels in a medium bronze metallic finish. These panels were applied across 56 colonnade columns, canopies, planter boxes, soffits, and fascia to create a sleek, unified appearance.
Each column features a removable front casing to provide access to internal downpipes and signage conduits, balancing functionality with form. We also installed a custom curved aluminium angle that followed the contour of the canopy fascia, ensuring a smooth and consistent finish around the entry.
For the Woolworths canopy, we supplied and installed more than 200sqm of aluminium panels in the same bronze finish. These were fitted to the soffits and curved nosing panels, providing continuity in design and material quality across the pavilion.
Inside the Fresh Food Hall, our team completed cladding on 58 columns, including the prominent barrel-vaulted feature columns. We used a combination of Black Ace and Shoji White aluminium finishes to deliver contrast and texture.
To ensure structural integrity, 90mm light steel framing and top hats were installed behind the aluminium panels. Most of these columns were also fitted with 5mm custom stainless steel bump rails and skirting, combining aesthetics with practicality by enhancing safety and easing maintenance.
To elevate the visual warmth of the space, select columns near Woolworths were enhanced with Tasmanian oak timber battens. These were also paired with stainless steel bump rails and skirting, maintaining consistency in protection and finish.
