The Melbourne Quarter Tower (MQT) cladding project involved extensive work across multiple areas of the building, including the main lobby, hallways, and retail precinct. A variety of high-quality materials were used to highlight specific architectural features while maintaining consistency throughout the interior and exterior design.
In the main lobby, three standout columns clad in 2mm Rimex Stainless Steel with a Champagne Granex finish create a striking focal point, elevating the space with a refined, contemporary touch.
Over 300sqm of 0.8mm Rimex Stainless Steel in a sleek hairline finish was used for the ceiling and surrounding areas of the elevator section. This subtle yet sophisticated detail seamlessly integrates into the lobby's modern aesthetic.
Externally, the retail precinct features over 2,000sqm of cladding installed across multiple levels. From the ground floor to the top, 4mm solid aluminium panels in Interpron Charcoal Pearl Matt were installed using a cassette fixing system, ensuring a robust, clean-lined result. Below, both solid and perforated profiled fluted stainless steel were added for texture and visual depth.
To enrich the design further, GRC Oko Skin Panels in Sandstone were applied to display boxes throughout the precinct. These double as functional seating and visual showcases, with integrated glass panels that enhance visibility into the retail spaces.
Overall, more than 2,000sqm of cladding were installed across both the interior and exterior of the building on multiple levels, all powdercoated in Interpron Charcoal Pearl Matt to ensure a cohesive and visually appealing aesthetic.
